Alexa Ortiz, DVM

Dr. Alexa Ortiz grew up in Vancouver, Washington and currently resides in Durham, Maine. She received an undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and earned a DVM degree from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Prior to joining the Auburn Animal Center team, Dr. Ortiz was a Wildlife Vet Intern at the Wildlife Center of Virginia. Her special interests include exotics and wildlife.

In her spare time, Dr. Ortiz enjoys gardening, hiking, camping, photography, and traveling. She has a small farm with a variety of animals including 2 goats named Danny and Spotty, 6 geese, and 13 chickens. She also has two loving English Pointer mixed dogs named Duke and Beau. Dr. Ortiz has a passion for backyard poultry and is always looking to add lonely chickens to her flock!
